The NASA Perseverance rover safely landed on Mars after its 292.5 million-mile journey from Earth, the agency confirmed at 3:55 p.m. ET Thursday. The rover landed itself flawlessly, according to the mission's team.

The rover has been on a nearly 300 million-mile journey since it left Earth more than 6 months ago. Perseverance and her teams lived up to the namesake, overcoming the challenges of preparing for the journey's final stages during a pandemic.Humanity's love affair with Mars is an enduring one, full of wonder about the possibility of life on this mysterious neighboring planet. This historic mission can search for evidence that could give us the answer.

WORLD WETLANDS DAY 2020

2nd February of each year is World wetlands day to raise global awareness about the  vital role of wetlands for people and our planet. Wetlands and Biodiversity is the theme for 2020. Wetlands are rich with biodiversity and are a habitat for dense variety of plants and animals. Latest estimate show a decline in biodiversity. Inorder to give awareness about the need of protection of wetlands, one day workshop was conducted on 03-02-2020. The workshop was conducted by WWF and Bhoomitrasena of St Gregorios college. The workshop was inaugurated by Sri.Shyalamalaamma, chairperson of kottarakara municipality. Inagural address was given by Dr Suman Alexander, principal of SG college. The classes was conducted by Dr Ranjan Mathew, N. K Shivakumar, Sujith B Gopan.  The class mainly pointed out the threats faced by wetlands of Kerala.
