INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS-2020

We celebrate Independence Day as the national festival of India. The Day marks the anniversary of national independence from the British Empire on 15th august 1947.

Furthermore, it is the most auspicious day for the people of India because India becomes independent after lots of hardships and sacrifices of the brave Indian freedom fighters.

From that day onwards 15th August become a very important day in Indian history and in the hearts of every Indian. Also, the entire nation celebrates this day with the full spirit of patriotism.

In addition, we celebrate Independence Day to remember the lives that we sacrificed to gain this freedom. As they are the ones who struggled for our country. Furthermore, on his day we forget our differences and unites as one true nation should.

The youth of our country has the power to change the nation. By means, someone rightly said that the future hinge on to the young generation. Hence it becomes our duty to serve the nation and make every possible effort to make our county better.

One of the main motives for celebrating Independence Day is to make the young generation aware of the sacrifices we have made to make this country a better place for them. By receiving in this idea in our mind our college conducted Independence day celebrations through an online platform


The first program was flag hosting. Our college principal respected Roy sir hosted tricolour flag at college



Chief guest of the program was,  Mr. Binu K Sam, High school teacher, writer and also a former student of our college..He gave inaugural speech

After the official meeting we conducted several online competitions like patriotic song, elocution and Fancy dress.

After noon session started at 1:25pm. Competitions like Essay writing, online quiz and poster making was also conducted. 

I'm very happy to say that I got a chance to participate in one of the program

In the present pandemic situation, these type of programs are a big relief to us. It help everyone of us to become active and also help to strengthen our team spirit. I am hearfully giving my regards to all coordinators for conducting a sensational program🥰

We, the charming seniors, had arranged an ice-breaking session for our juniors on 22nd January. They were already late admitted due to this pandemic situation. He conducted the class based on the topic Gandhian views on peace and equality. He stressed the importance of secularism in the present world.  A poster competition was also conducted. WORLD WETLANDS DAY 2020

2nd February of each year is World wetlands day to raise global awareness about the  vital role of wetlands for people and our planet. Wetlands and Biodiversity is the theme for 2020. Wetlands are rich with biodiversity and are a habitat for dense variety of plants and animals. Latest estimate show a decline in biodiversity. Inorder to give awareness about the need of protection of wetlands, one day workshop was conducted on 03-02-2020. The workshop was conducted by WWF and Bhoomitrasena of St Gregorios college. The workshop was inaugurated by Sri.Shyalamalaamma, chairperson of kottarakara municipality. Inagural address was given by Dr Suman Alexander, principal of SG college. The classes was conducted by Dr Ranjan Mathew, N. K Shivakumar, Sujith B Gopan.  The class mainly pointed out the threats faced by wetlands of Kerala.
